Dr. Peter K. Carr

You could call him your running-whiplash-headache-low-back-pain-golfing-sailing chiropractor, or like most of us, you could just call him Dr. Carr.

Introduced to chiropractic following an auto accident, Dr. Carr knows the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1992, attending college on a CSU track and field team scholarship, running the 400m, 800m, indoors and out, and cross-country.  During his junior year a car broadsided his, and the amazing results he got convinced him that chiropractic, with its naturally drugless methods to relieve pain and increase performance, was the job of a lifetime for him.

After graduating from Colorado State University, Dr. Carr received his doctorate from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Now the owner of his own chiropractic office, Dynamic Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Carr is allowing others to experience the best chiropractic has to offer. Specializing in whiplash and sports-related injuries, Seattle Dr. Carr provides his patients with the gentle, effective care necessary to bring them to their maximum potential. In addition to the Palmer package of Gonstead, Thompson Drop, Toggle Recoil and Diversified techniques, he is certified in Motion Palpation, Nimmo soft tissue technique, and whiplash treatment. He is also a certified chiropractic golf practitioner.   Dr. Carr is Neurology Diplomate Eligible, meaning he has taken enough post-graduate education classes on the subject of Neurology to sit the exam for this post-graduation certification.   He also takes regular postgraduate classes.  Most recently, many of his classes are from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Carr fulfilled his residency at Tuttle & Devine Chiropractic Center in Seattle's Pioneer Square before officially joining its staff for more than two years.  Many of his patients at Tuttle and Devine enjoyed his care so much they found him and followed him to his new practice.

Dr Carr has received many awards in his profession, including the Palmer Diagnosis Award, the Palmer Humanitarian Award, and the Neurology Diplomate Award.  He also writes health-related articles for several professional publications and online journals.

When Dr. Carr is not at the office, he is active outside of it. An avid runner, cyclist and sailor, Dr Carr can often be found outside on Washington's beautiful trails and waters.   Dr. Carr's life goal is to sail around the world with his son with regular visits from his wife in all the exotic locales, with a chiropractic table on board for "boat calls".

Currently he is rebuilding two boats, a classic International 14, named "Ganimata" (bow-legged in Japanese), and a Flying Dutchman dinghy named "I Don't Know".  He feels that sanding the hull is good training for chiropractic adjusting... no doubt the hull will be smooth!

Why did we name it Dynamic Chiropractic Clinic?

Dynamic Chiropractic is the old name for Motion Palpation, a quick and direct way of finding joint restrictions (stuck parts of the spine) that both Drs. Car and Thompson use.  This was a radical notion when it was introduced by Leonard Faye, and broke from the traditional "bone on nerve" or "bone out of place" thinking, where static chiropractors believe that the misalignments they see on x-ray correspond to problems with the patient.

Dr. Mark Thompson
"Have you ever been in a car accident, hurt on the job, or suffered an athletic injury? If you have, you understand how pain can make it difficult for you to perform your job, pick up your kids, even get a good night's sleep. Most people are introduced to chiropractic for reasons such as these. As for myself, I suffered in my junior year in high school from back pain that kept me from pitching baseball any longer than 3 innings. With just a few visits to my chiropractor, I was up and playing a full game without any pain! Because of these fantastic results with this and other injuries, I decided to attain my doctor of chiropractic degree to help others achieve the same degree of health that I enjoy."

Dr. Thompson attended undergraduate at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana where he received his varsity letter awards in football and baseball while obtaining his degree in Biology. He then attended Palmer College of Chiropractic (PCC) in Davenport, Iowa and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic. While attending Earlham and Palmer, he served as an athletic trainer for a variety of sports such as football, basketball, baseball, rugby, hockey, soccer and track. He became nationally certified in the adjusting techniques of Motion Palpation, NIMMO, Diversified, Toggle Recoil, and the Palmer Package. Dr. Thompson has also completed many postgraduate seminars on the subjects of whiplash, pain management, nutrition, and sports injuries.

Dr. Thompson served his internship at the Fremont Chiropractic Clinic in the Bay Area of California. In addition to his regular chiropractic duties, he assisted in multiple MUA (Manipulation Under Anesthesia) procedures and has taken course work to become a worker's compensation QME (Qualified Medical Evaluator). He has founded the Healthy Business Network, which became Worksite Wellness, where he and other health professionals help to restore the health of employees within local businesses.

Dr. Thompson enjoys his practice and says this when asked what is most enjoyable about being a chiropractor: "Because the nature of chiropractic treatment involves seeing a patient more than one or two times a year, I am in the fortunate situation where I get the opportunity to truly educate my patients on how to achieve wellness through additional avenues such as exercise, nutrition, and a positive mental attitude. How many doctors get a chance to do that with their patients?"

Dr. Thompson was recently married and practices in an office with two other chiropractors.

Dr. Thompson always gives free consultations to those who are curious if chiropractic can help them. Please call for your free consultation. (425) 827-2225.
